Great fun doing my first SwimRun! I wish I could swim better and I would have preferred it to be longer; I’m no sprinter anymore!
10.5kms of swimming and running around Val de Vie Estate. There were 6 swims with maximum distance of the swim being about 300m.
I choose to run in an old pair of racing flats; lightweight and drained well. I used paddles and a pull buoy. I strapped the pull buoy to my leg with elastic but it kept sliding down during the run phases – maybe I would have been better without it.
The lakes were lovely and warm but I didn’t swim very well which was annoying as I kept passing friends during the run and then they would overtake me on the swim!
I finished 6th lady.
