I was very fortunate to be chosen to review Hi-Tec’s softshell jacket.
First impressions were WOW what a lovely bright pink colour! Having been delivered to my office it was admired not just by me but also by all my work colleagues.
The fit of the jacket is perfect for me; the women’s cut is emphasised by the grey colouring on the sides. It also has good long sleeves and I love the elasticated cuffs.
The pockets are of a decent size and the zips work well, despite being quite small, and have handy zip pullers attached. There is also an inner zip pocket for your ipod or keys.
The adjustable draw-cord waist allows you to have a gathered hem if you prefer rather than a straight hem.
It’s very lightweight yet offers protection from chilly winds. Being a ‘softshell’ jacket it’s not particularly thick but it’s more than just a windbreaker. I’ve not worn it in heavy rain (I hide indoors instead!) but it has adequate protection from a light drizzle.
The collar has a lovely soft velvety lining. There is a thin fleece lining on the inside front of the jacket. It perhaps would have been nice to have the fleece lining throughout.
Its breathable fabric and 4 way stretch makes it ideal for wearing during light to moderate exercise or for lounging around in after training. Its smart appearance also makes it ideal to wear when out for a walk or having coffee with friends.
All in all a very versatile jacket!
