Having had a scratchy throat and a cough leading up to the race I decided not to push too hard. I started off pretty slowly and quickly got into a rhythm. It was actually quite hard to hold myself back as I was feeling fit.
I have memories of last years race where at about 24kms my feet were so sore I just wanted to take my trainers off and walk. But with a years more running under my belt at 24kms I was feeling fantastic!
It was a great feeling, as I came towards the finish line, that I could have quite happily continued running.
With even 15km splits, I was very happy with my time of 2.26.
